About Clive Wakefield

Clive was born in November 1964 and raised in Matepatepa, a remote farming district in the North-Eastern part of Zimbabwe. With an unexplored wilderness on his doorstep, and an endless fascination for the bush & wildlife that shared his world, it’s understandable that he opted for a career as a game farmer, and for over 30 years he has successfully owned and operated his own private game reserve and safari tour operation.

A semi-fluent Shona speaker, he has always been passionate about education and Special Needs, establishing 5 schools within the rural communities adjacent to his farming district, before moving to Victoria Falls in 2013. Clive is a qualified, respected and preferred Tour Guide for High-End Clients within the Victoria Falls area and the Region, owns a few Homestays in the town, has a personalised Transfer Company, and is a Relief Manager for many of the Lodges in Vic Falls.

Clive is also a qualified Reiki Practitioner, where he practices on both local and foreign clients. He has quickly established himself as a gifted Raconteur and his rendition of the life of Dr David Livingstone is unique as he combines the stories of both Livingstone and Stanley whilst bringing the two together at that most famous of meetings in the centre of Africa.

His story is both moving and heartfelt as is his obvious passion for the past, present and future of his home – the African continent.
